Baby K

So I LOVE sleeping baby pictures.   I did not have my own photography business when my children were newborns.  I remember taking my older two to a department store for their 1 month photographs.  Being in medical school at the time, this was all that we could afford and honestly, really didn't know any better.    These were essentially their newborn pictures since they arrived 3 weeks early.  We tried so desperately to wake them up.  All we got were 2 cranky looking little old men.   The most adorable little old men that I've ever seen, but the pictures don't fit my memories of them as newborns.   I wish I had that sweet sleeping picture, where they are all nestled in.   This type of picture fits my memories because when I see portraits like this my heart swells with love.  I remember those first days when all I wanted to do was hold and cuddle the new loves of our lives.   I can't really describe what these portraits are suppose to mean, but if you are a parent, then you know that feeling when you hold your sleeping newborn and want the moment to last forever.  I hope that the portraits I take for my clients give them memories of that moment that they will treasure forever.  As I know, these moments pass by so quickly and before you know it those little toes have turned into size 12 basketball shoes and that baby that didn't even weigh 5lbs,  one day becomes taller than you.   The cuddles turn to hugs that eventually turn into fist bumps as they walk out the door.  It all passes by so quickly.  I feel so blessed that other families trust me to capture this special moment and preserve it in time forever.  Thank you!

So excited to be hosting a Matilda Jane Trunk Show here at the studio.  I absolutely love their clothes and love that my daughter has not outgrown wanting to wear them.  I posted an event link on my facebook page.   There you can find the details of how to earn a free fall mini session.   I am building my packages for this event.   What is your favorite size of print for your home?   What is your favorite size of gift print?

Honestly, I forgot I even had this blog spot.   I've been working today on updating my marketing and came across this.   Wow - 2009!!!   My photography has come a long ways since back then.   Here is a little sample from a couple recent senior sessions.   These 2 sessions were extra special because these 2 seniors are the older siblings of my boys' best friends.   Needless to say, they are part of the basketball family too.  :)   So honored to share this milestone with both of these families.   August Senior sessions are filling up, so please contact me soon if you want one of the few spots left.   Thanks!!
